A Master of Architecture from Bombay University, went on to become a Town Planner at CIDCO. He was instrumental in laying the plan for the development of Mumbai. Post retirement with CIDCO, Suhas went on to lead some of the most prestigious urban planning projects in India and abroad. He was the designer of a Multi-modal Logistics Park in India and a major dry port in Afghanistan on the Silk Route. As a planner he has led multiple projects associating with major consulting companies in India and abroad. Suhas, was also on the evaluation committee of ADB and Maharashtra Maritime Board.
